Our status and compliance approach

Regulatory language should be precise enough to verify. This page explains the relationship between FINMA, VQF and AMPilatus and sets the boundary of what VQF SRO membership means.

FINMA

FINMA is Switzerland's financial-market supervisory authority. It directly supervises authorised institutions in the areas assigned to it by law and recognises and supervises self-regulatory organisations for anti-money-laundering purposes.

VQF

VQF is a FINMA-recognised self-regulatory organisation under the Swiss Anti-Money Laundering Act. VQF supervises its members' compliance with the AMLA obligations applicable to their activities.

AMPilatus

AMPilatus GmbH was admitted as a VQF SRO member under member number 100555. Current membership must be verified immediately before launch and reviewed periodically.

What membership means

AMPilatus is affiliated to VQF's SRO framework for applicable anti-money-laundering obligations and is subject to the relevant VQF rules, oversight and member duties.

What membership does not mean

AMPilatus is not thereby a FINMA-licensed bank or financial institution. Membership does not by itself authorise deposit-taking, asset management, payment, card, crypto, custody, lending, investment or other activities that require a separate legal basis, licence, registration or approval.

General AMLA overview

Swiss anti-money-laundering obligations can include identifying the contracting party, establishing the beneficial owner, applying a risk-based approach, conducting additional clarification in higher-risk situations, keeping records and making required reports. The precise obligations depend on the activity and circumstances.
